Union Market's FIRST Business to Accept Bitcoin

The Bitcoin District Initiative is proud to announce that Plant Magic Bottle Shop, DC’s first clean, non-alcoholic bottle shop, is now accepting Bitcoin for in-store purchases — expanding the city’s growing circular Bitcoin economy.
Located in Union Market, Plant Magic Bottle Shop specializes in functional beverages like dealcoholized wines, CBD and kava tonics, cacao elixirs, and matcha blends. The Initiative worked directly with the shop’s founder, Anahana, to set up Bitcoin payments over the Lightning Network, enabling fast, low-cost transactions right at the counter.

This marks the latest milestone in the Bitcoin District Initiative’s ongoing effort to onboard small businesses across Washington, DC — helping owners and customers experience freedom money in everyday commerce.
